You’re never too old! Healing MCS, EHS, and CFS in my 70′s
by Linda Worthington My Journey Into MCS, EHS, CFS - and Back “Never take good health for granted!” This has been my mantra for most of my adult life. Could a woman in her 70’s be active, energetic and healthy one year, and almost bed-ridden with debilitating medical problems the next? I would not have thought so, being blessed with good health most of my life, running my own small business, living with my husband and two poodles in our lovely log home, taking 5-15 mile hikes in the Maryland mountains, entertaining friends and traveling whenever and wherever I wished. But suddenly, everything changed. Through a combination of factors, including stress, I developed MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities), EHS (Electromagnetic Hyper Sensitivity) and CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), beginning in the spring of 2009 and reaching my physical and emotional bottom by the summer of 2010. By July of that year I was barely able to function, although I forced myself...Brain retrainers: Alternative phrases for “Stop, stop, stop!”

by Julie Genser
Those working hard to heal from chemical sensitivity, electrical sensitivity, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and related limbic system impairment syndromes through brain retraining programs such as Annie Hopper's Dynamic Neural Retraining System™ (DNRS™) and Ashok Gupta's Amygdala Retraining™ Programme may not be completely comfortable repeating the phrase "Stop, stop, stop!" as part of the neuro linguistic programming (NLP) aspect of those programs. For some, "Stop, stop, stop!" feels too aggressive, and stimulates their fight or flight response - exactly the opposite intended effect. For others, the phrase just doesn't provide enough oomph to divert them away from a trauma loop thought pattern. What to do?! A group of committed brain retrainers from Planet Thrive's Gupta Support Group have compiled a list of alternative phrases to offer some options to those who prefer...

My MCS recovery using DNRS™, EFT and the HAMR technique ~ Part 2
by T-Can republished from T-Can's Planet Thrive blog with permission Technique Two: WHEE I use this technique if I feel I am not getting anywhere with the tapping, humming, and counting alone (I explained in detail how I do this in my previous post), or if I need some variety. A clear explanation of this technique can be found here. This is a simple tool but has helped me release blocks to my healing. For instance, if I am tapping, but have a persistent chemical taste in my mouth, I will stop the tapping and then use WHEE to target the chemical taste. I recommend doing this with a smile on your face. Here is how I do it: 1. Create the set-up. “Even though I can taste chemicals in my mouth, I love and accept myself wholly and completely, and God [Christ/Allah/the Infinite Source etc] loves and accepts me...My MCS recovery using DNRS™, EFT and the HAMR technique ~ Part 1
by T-Can republished from T-Can's Planet Thrive blog with permission I said in my last blog post that I was going to share with the Planet Thrive Community the brain retraining tools that have been helping me. These are tools that are freely available and searchable on the Internet, and in fact most of them have been mentioned here at PT and that's how I discovered them. I have taken bits and pieces from several different techniques and retrained my brain by implementing the things that seemed to work for me. In two weeks time, by using these techniques I’ve gone from being about 60% better to pushing on 100% cured. The largest improvement happened literally overnight, and I believe was due to a very simple, fast but incredibly powerful technique called HAMR. More about that later. It is my hope that by sharing this information, what I have discovered and used with success...Does brain retraining work for lyme disease?
by Julie Genser
Many new members in the Planet Thrive community have asked this question: Can brain retraining help those with lyme disease and co-infections?
My educated guess is that yes, brain retraining can help normalize limbic system function for those with active tick-born infections as well as post-lyme disease. Athough it won't eradicate the infection directly, it may help bring your immune and detoxification systems into a more functional state, allowing your own body to keep the infection in check, or even eradicate it on its own (or with a little help from lyme herbs and/or antibiotics).
One of our members, who goes by the username "Writing Girl," has recently posted a summary of all the ways she feels brain retraining has helped her lyme symptoms. It was so inspirational to our members that I wanted to share it with a wider audience. Here is what she posted:
I've found some definite beneficial effects on my...February 22nd, 2012 in Contributors, Julie Genser | 1,858 views | tags: lyme disease & co-infections | No Comments
Brain Dos and Brain Don’ts from Daniel G. Amen, M.D.

Daniel G. Amen, M.D. is a clinical neuroscientist and medical director of the Amen Clinic for Behavioral Medicine in California. He popularized using SPECT scans to diagnose brain damage and treat with lifestyle and dietary modifications, as well as medications. He's a nationally recognized expert on the relationship between the brain and behavior as well as attention deficit disorder (ADD). Dr. Amen wrote the fascinating book Change Your Brain, Change Your Life: The Breakthrough Program for Conquering Anxiety, Depression, Obsessiveness, Anger, and Impulsiveness that details five areas of the brain (deep limbic system, cingulate gyrus, prefrontal cortex, basal ganglia, temporal lobes) and shares what functions each area controls, what the potential problems are, and how to treat them. At the end of his book, he lists fifty "Brain Dos" and fifty "Brain Don'ts." Here is an excerpt from that list: Brain Dos and Brain Don'ts: A Summary of Ways to Optimize...
Getting my Life Back using EFT
by Kath Insight and Hope I discovered, in 1999, that what I suffered from for 30 years was called Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). Following that revelation I tried a number of recommended therapies with little to no long-lasting results. My experience was that MCS could not be cured. The most I could hope for were small reversals or respites. Avoidance became my best option. This all changed on September 25, 2011 when I was introduced to some new to me concepts called Amygdala Retraining and Dynamic Neural Retraining. After listening to both Ashok Gupta and Annie Hopper describe their theories on re-educating the brain I decided to give it a try. Hopper had personal experience with MCS which made her my first choice. While waiting for her soon-to-be-released DVD series, I spent my time reading articles and testimonials from those helped by either or both of these methods. My curiosity was...Gupta and Hopper programs being auctioned
